They Grow So Fast

We celebrated Emery’s first birthday this weekend with friends and family.  I can’t believe it’s been a year.  Time definitely flew by a lot faster this "second kid around". Finger Lickin' Good

Makes me wonder what I missed in the midst of taking care of TWO kids.  With your first child, you see everything.  Every new facial expression, new gurgle, new hand gesture, it’s all so momentous, and should be, with any kid.  But with the second child, you’re so busy juggling a household and the older sibling, that you can let so much slip by without really taking notice or giving it due celebration.  But I will say I’ve tried to keep track.  I’ve made another slide show, The Year In Emery for your viewing pleasure.  It’ll be small, but it should work.

So, here’s to you Emery, Happy Birthday.  Here’s to learning to smile, to sit up, to grab things with your hands, the discovery of your own feet, rolling over, crawling, clapping, standing, saying mama and dada, mimicking the tone of "thank you", getting your first four teeth, and all the other stuff we celebrated in passing this past year.  I can’t believe how quickly you’re growing up, and I see myself sternly judging any girl you bring to our house already.  They’ll never be good enough for you, you know.  ;)  You’ve been an amazing mixture of sweet and tempermental since the day you were born, and I see something new in your face every day.  I know you’ll be a heart breaker with those amazing blue eyes framed by perfect dark eyebrows, your beautiful olive skin, gorgeous head of hair, adorable cheeks, perfect little red lips, and a smile to die for.  I can already tell you’re extremely intelligent, and prefer to celebrate your own little victories in private, glancing back to see if I’ve noticed, rather than shouting it out to the world the way your sister always has.

Let me just say, I notice, little man.  I’ll always notice you, how could I not?  I love you with all of my heart.

Gimme A Head With Hair….

Or not, as the case may be.  ;)

Ok, now that Barney’s done ridiculing me (see post below) I can post about our recent haircutting extraveganza!

Chloe, Patrick, Ayden, and Gramma Gail once again came over to attend a barber shop night at the cheapest shop in town.  While we couldn’t convince my mom to let us buzz her hair, we did manage to rope in Emery, Ayden, and the barber himself, Barney.  All three are now sporting the most fasionable of Boisvert haircuts; The straight 3/4 inch buzz.

Barney affectionately calls Emery the micro marine, and Emery is looking amazingly more like Barney with each passing moment.  Definitely takes after his father, that boy.  God help us all.  ;)  Go check out the pics.

The Nitty Gritty

Quick update on the growth of the two weeds living in my house!  Dang, these kids are growing way too fast!

We
all went to the doctor this week and found that everyone is healthy and
growing as they should be.  Emery now weighs just under 19 pounds
and is 28 inches long.  Lindsay weighs 35 pounds and is 37 inches
tall.  Yikes, I think they may both surpass their parents before
we know it!

One strange thing of note, Emery didn’t cry
while getting his FOUR shots!  What a crazy kid…he usually
shrieks, but he was too busy flirting with the nurse to notice the
needles piercing his skin!  He just smiled away…she was in
shock.  Too funny, I swear that kid is bipolar sometimes…

Our Little Man

So we’re sitting on the couch before putting Lindsay to bed, and
Heather’s got Emery sitting on her lap, facing out.  The TV’s on,
and all is peaceful.

As some backstory, Emery’s finally started
making intentional vocalizations, both in response to things he likes,
and talking from others.  Smiling too.

So Heather starts
flipping channels, and during the course of a relatively brief span of
time, he makes three distinct "happy" noises.  They coincided with
crocodiles, Ted Nugent, and steak.  Our little boy.

Photo Phabulous

I just uploaded some more photos
of us just hanging around, doing what we do.  There are some
attempted pictures of Emery smiling, but I haven’t managed to get a
really good one yet.  At least you’ll get the idea that he is
finally at least trying to smile!  ;)

I’ll try to post again tomorrow.  Right now, I’m starving.  Time for lunch!

Big Boy

Time for a quick Emery update.

I took Emery to his two month
appointment this morning and the doc said everything looked good.
He now weighs just over 13 and a half pounds and is measuring in at
just over 24 inches long.  He’s following in his sister’s
footsteps and growing like a weed!  We think he’s finally smiling
at us, however seldom and sporradic it may be, it’s still glorious when
he does.  I can’t wait for the cooing to begin.  Oh, he’s
also started actually playing a game!  We stick our tongue in and
out at him while saying, "blahda blahda blahda" like complete morons,
and when we stop, he actually starts sticking his tongue in and out
too!  We even got a smile after one episode, as though he knew
what a clever boy he was being.  Very entertaining.  Looks
like we may have another little clown on our hands!

Oh my gosh,
this has nothing to do with Emery, but Lindsay can now sing "Ring
Around The Rosie" perfectly.  It’s hysterical.  She even
throws herself on the floor at the end.  I’m going to try and film
it and put the clip on here within the week, so stay tuned.

They’re Home!

Heather and Emery arrived home happy and healthy at 3pm this
afternoon.  Both seem relieved to be in the comfortable
surroundings of home.  Auntie Chloe took several photos
of their last morning at the hospital, and several once we all arrived
home.  There’s not too much happening tomorrow, just some much
need rest and relaxation for Heather and Emery.  More pictures to
follow - we promise!

As Promised

As promised, I was able to take another bunch of photos while
visiting Emery and Heather at the hospital today.  They are posted
on my website for the time being.  There is a good chance that
Heather will be discharged tomorrow (instead of Monday), since she is
healing so well… and the hospital is short on beds for incoming
patients!  So hopefully we’ll be documenting Emery’s homecoming
tomorrow afternoon.  And if so, I’ll be sure to cover the story
here!  Be sure to check back.  Enjoy the photos!

Auntie Loves You!

Welcome to the world little Emery!  While your mommy and daddy are
busy getting to know you, and mommy is recovering at the hospital, I
have posted the photos that your daddy took on your birthday!  These will supplement the photos on Auntie Chloe and Uncle Patrick’s site and also those on Carrie’s site. So, Emery meet the world, the world meet Emery Isaac!  More photos to follow… I promise!

It’s a Boy!

At 9:49 am today, Heather gave birth to Emery Isaac Boisvert. He was 20.5 inches long, and weighed 8 lbs
1 oz. More details and pictures to follow later …..
