Zoo Lights!

We headed to see the Zoo Lights Celebration at the Oregon Zoo this past weekend. Along with Chloe, Patrick, Ayden, Chad, Peggy, Nikolai, and Gabriel, we strolled through the chilly zoo to look at the winter wonderland they had created there. It was fantastic. I’ve never seen so many lights. Pretty amazing that there were so many Christmas lights that they didn’t have to have any of their “street lamps” on to light the walkways. The stuff they had set up in the concert green was especially cool, like an eagle that swoops accross the lawn and catches a fish from the river of lights, or the caterpillar going into a pupae and flying away as a butterfly, or the elephant lifting his trunk and spraying water (all lights of course).

Our family usually goes for walks in the evening after dinner, and Lindsay remarked that this was an especially cool evening walk. ;) And we got to have other members of our family there, and she got to run around with Nikolai… I think she enjoyed herself a little bit. It was a little cold, but at least it wasn’t raining. I tried to get some pics, but my camera isn’t good enough to capture the lights in pitch black, while the flash goes… so here are just a few of the fam while there!
