He Walks!

Wow, with our trip to California for my mom’s 5oth, and then our site being in disarray, I have completely forgotten about my poor blog! As you can see, Barney has been frantically trying to get everyones’ blogs up and running again after his server crashed last week. So be prepared for some changes, obviously in appearance as well as functionality. He’s slowly working us back towards the way we were before, but I’m just so grateful anything works at all! ;) He stayed up past 1 last night to get us this far so that we can at least post, and put some pics on. So thanks to you, my sweet!

In recent news (although it’s already been over three weeks!) Emery is WALKING! Yes, he is completely and utterly mobile, and I LOVE it! Oh, don’t get me wrong, he’s still entirely clingy, but at least I can put him down and he can follow me from room to room rather than me having to carry him. And when we go to parks and the like, he can explore a little on his own. Yes, that’s a blessing and a curse all at once, but I feel such relief for him that I’ll force myself to be grateful. This poor kid reminds me of my brother when he was little; too smart for his incapable body, and horribly frustrated half of the day. I don’t really know how to describe how we know he’s highly intelligent. It’s just the little things he does every day. Watching how he figures things out so easily, and how he analyses things to understand how they work; he’s almost mechanical, an engineering mind for sure. I tell ya what, I’ll be shocked if this kid grows up to be a vet, or a painter. No, I’m thinking more along the lines of architect, or structural engineer, or hey, maybe computer scientist. ;) Only time will tell I suppose.

Let’s see, what else? Halloween was a blast. Lindsay was Cinderella (her favorite princess, she has the movie completely memorized!) and Emery was a little bat man (thank you to Auntie Peggy for donating the costume). I’ll try to get some pics up soon so stay tuned! Oh, and we lost our little kitten Dusty on Halloween night. I think all of the trick or treaters scared him, he ran, and then had no idea where he was, or how to get home. I had nightmares of some punks putting him in a dumpster or something, but after putting up Lost posters a few days later, we got a call and retrieved Dusty from a gal who had kindly taken him in after she found him cowering under her deck to escape the stormy weather we’ve been having. Needless to say, we were so very grateful and relieved (except maybe Barney, just kidding!)

Well, I think that’s all the update I have for now (like that wasn’t enough to bore you to tears, right?) Like I said, I’ll try to get some pics on this week. Ta ta for now!
