Another Good Weekend

Another beautiful day here in Beaverton allowed us to head to the Saturday Market this morning.  Yes, I know, it’s Sunday.  I don’t make up the names ok?  ;)

We parked at the Zoo, took the elevator down into the mountain, took the train through the tunnel and into the city.  Lindsay has been begging us to ride the train every time we get stopped at a crossing, so we finally gave in.  Saturday Market was great; The usual artisans, eclectics, musicians, mimes, balloon animal artists, etc.  After wandering around for a while, we headed back home to have a nice lunch out on the deck, then took a nap for several hours.  When we all FINALLY woke up, as Barney put it (as you probably guessed, he didn’t sleep), we played in the yard, blew bubbles, and generally goofed around until dinner time.  After a yummy spaghetti dinner, we strapped the kiddos into the bike trailer and headed to the local elementary school park for a few minutes of pre-bedtime fun.  The munchkins then enjoyed a bath and fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillows.  I’m about to do the same, but hopefully I’ll get back on tomorrow and update you all a little more on what’s been going on in our neck of the woods.

The new gallery is a conglomeration of a trip to the Childrens’ Museum, our trip to Bellingham, us at the park this evening, and bath time.  Enjoy!

Tulip Pics!

Another quick post here, sorry.Last Picture, I Swear

Our playgroup decided to take advantage of this gorgeous day, and headed to the Tulip Festival in Woodburn.

I still have yet to get the pics off of my videocamera, that I took when Chloe and my mom came with us, but at least you can see these ones from today to hold you over.  :)

Wow, there’s a lot to post about, but I’ll have to get back to ya later.  For now, go check out the new gallery with Easter-ish pics.  :)

Just Another Ballet Day…

Well Lindsay did awesome at dance class today.  She had a blast, payed attention, stayed in the studio, and I snapped some more photos and even took some video.

Once I get Barney to help me figure out how to get the video off of my camera…..I’ll share some clips with you all.  For right now though, you can either go look at her original ballet pics, or check out today’s.

Fun Before Bed

We had a lazy day here of shopping, running errands, going to the library, etc.  Ok, so I guess that’s not all that lazy after all, but it felt like we didn’t get much accomplished.

We did however have a delicious fajita dinner and then took Blue Eyesa walk to the nearby park before bedtime.  I love how late it’s staying light these days!  I grabbed the camera and took some shots for your viewing pleasure.  On a side note, this was Emery’s first time in a swing, and he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

After playing at the park until bedtime, we decided we better head home so we could put the munchkins to bed, but when we got there, Lindsay asked if she could ride her bike to get the mail with us.  I remembered I had promised her we could do that, earlier in the day, so we headed out on one more quick adventure to grab the mail down the street.  Even though Lindsay hasn’t figured out how to pedal or steer her bike yet, she loves it so much, it’s hysterical, and I have to spoil her a little right?  ;)  They both went to bed later than planned, but they were exhausted and fell asleep right away, which is always nice.  Overall another wonderful day to add to the memory bank.

And Today….The Zoo!

I was kinda joking when I said, "yesterday the museum, today OMSI, and maybe tomorrow it’ll be the zoo" in one of my last posts, but hey, the weather was great and there was time to spare.  :) Almost Everyone's Smiling ;)

We invited Carrie, who has so desperately been wanting to go to the zoo, along with us and had a great time.  It was awesome to have another set of hands and eyes to help out with the kiddos (she saved Lindsay from running into people on more than one occasion!) and also so great to have some adult companionship while playing around!  I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

I know she took a bunch of pics too, so make sure you go check them out as well.  There might actually be some with ME in them as well!  *Gasp*

For Carrie :)

Ok, so it’s not JUST for Carrie, but she’s the one who’s been hounding me the most about this.  :)  Tiny DancerThis is also for Carole, for whom I have unending respect and sympathy in regards to being a dance teacher to anyone under the age of 20.  ;)

So Lindsay started a "pre-ballet" class after one of her playgroup friends invited her to join.  I wouldn’t really say Ballet should even be in the title of the class, except that they do wear ballet slippers.  ;)  It’s mostly just semi-organised chaotic movement set to background music and squeeling.  Pretty hysterical to watch, and I’m sure incredibly frustrating to poor Miss Rebecca, who must go to the backroom after each of our weekly sessions and drink herself silly.

In the beginning I was worried that it wasn’t going to work out because Lindsay’s going through some major seperation anxiety all the sudden, and insisted that I be IN the dance room, dancing with her, which isn’t really encouraged.  And when I wouldn’t, she’d just cry and say she didn’t want to dance anymore.  But after a few times, I think this was our third, she has really taken to it now that she feels more comfortable.  However, because I told her that she needed to stay in there and dance until Miss Rebecca told her she was done and then she could come out and see me, this last class she pestered her every five minutes, going up, tugging on her skirt and asking, "Am I done now Miss Rebecca?"   Poor woman.

Lindsay really did have fun though this time and I’m so glad, because I didn’t want it to turn into one of those battles where you don’t want to force the kid to dance, but you just spent a bunch of money on the classes, and you wonder if 2 is too young to start instilling the whole, "follow through with your commitments" stuff by not letting her back out.  ;)  No, it’s not that bad, and I’m just thankful she’s enjoying herself now.  I had a feeling she just needed to get comfortable with the people and place, and it seems she has.  Look forward to many more "dancing" pics to come.

Yesterday The Museum, Today OMSI

It’s true, Auntie Peggy and the kids and I have been on the go!Auntie Peggy joins in

Today we headed to OMSI for lunch and some playtime.  It’s always nice to just let the kids loose and be entertained watching them for a while.  The kids had fun, but by the end of it, Peggy and I were dead tired and certainly ready to go.  :)

If we get some nice weather, who knows, maybe we’ll head to the zoo next!

Later today, we headed to Auntie Chloe’s to go for a walk with the whole crew,Later In The Day after OMSI including Beau and I snapped a few shots before we headed BACK over to our house to have a fun family pizza night.  What a day!  Whew, no wonder I’m pooped!  ;)

Cousins Come To The Museum!

Peggy and the boys finally made it to the Childrens’ Museum with us yesterday, and we all had a lot of fun exploring togetherWeeee're Off To See The Wizard...
I can’t wait ’til Emery is big enough to join in, he’s going to have a blast.  All the kiddos were really well behaved, we didn’t loose anyone, and everyone went home happy and tired, just the way we mommies like it.  :)  I tried to snap some pics in between coralling and assisting munchkins, and I actually managed to get quite a few, so enjoy.  :)
