Yet Another Visit To The Childrens’ Museum!

You guys are going to know your way around the museum without ever having been there by the end of this year, I swear.  ;)

Here’s another installment of pics from the Childrens’ Museum last Friday.  We were originally going to go with the MOMS Club, but got there a couple hours late, so only saw one person we knew.  But Auntie Chloe was with us, so that’s always fun.  I’m sure she’ll have pics up soon as well, especially since she just got a fancy new computer, so go check her site every now and then.

Lindsay the Musician

Lindsay got a pile of percussion instruments for her birthday (thanks Aunt Dot), and we dug them all out last night and between the four of us, made an amazing racket.  Even Emery helped out, and wasn’t scared of the cacophony at all, which was a pleasant surprise.

This evening, Lindsay dug them all out again, and was playing with Heather on the floor.  After a request for Oscar Meyer Wiener on the kazoo, Heather went right into Jingle Bells while shaking the little "bell guy" in time with the music.  After banging the tambourine with the maracas for a while, Lindsay picks him up, starts spastically shaking him, and sings Jingle Bells herself.  Note that while she’s gotten pretty good about the different tones, the rythym is, how do you say, lacking.  Pretty funny though.

Munchkins

I was trying to get a pic of both kiddos sitting together, to make a new skin for our site, but it proved to be rather difficult.  Mwa Ha Ha Ha Ha!Now that Emery is arching backwards when he leans against something, it’s a little difficult for Lindsay to keep ahold of him!  I’ll try again sometime this week.  Hey, at least you’re getting some pictures out of the failed attempts, right?  ;)

Photos

Ok, just want to test out my ability to put pics in my posts.  ;)

Tackle The Daddy-Man!Here’s a shot from last summer.  Can’t wait ’til this cold weather’s gone.  :)  So what do you think, give me some feedback on whether you’d like to see pics in the posts larger size, or in a different location on the page, etc, etc.  Help me out.  :)  This is a new feature in progress…

The Nitty Gritty

Quick update on the growth of the two weeds living in my house!  Dang, these kids are growing way too fast!

We
all went to the doctor this week and found that everyone is healthy and
growing as they should be.  Emery now weighs just under 19 pounds
and is 28 inches long.  Lindsay weighs 35 pounds and is 37 inches
tall.  Yikes, I think they may both surpass their parents before
we know it!

One strange thing of note, Emery didn’t cry
while getting his FOUR shots!  What a crazy kid…he usually
shrieks, but he was too busy flirting with the nurse to notice the
needles piercing his skin!  He just smiled away…she was in
shock.  Too funny, I swear that kid is bipolar sometimes…

Birthday Brunch

I had a wonderful birthday thanks in most part to my sister.   The Whisler clan threw me a lovely brunch with some close friends and family
Low key with lots of yummy food.  Perfect.  And the stuffed
french toast Chloe made was heavenly, and I didn’t even get to try it
in its full glory with cream cheese inside, so I can only imagine how
amazing it was for everyone else!  Chloe was a super sister though
and made me my own little corner sans cheese, and still
delightful.  :)

No, I didn’t get to have the cheese and crackers (well, I had
some crackers), and no, I didn’t get to have any cream cheese spread,
and no, I didn’t get to have any of the warm fluffy quiche, and no, no
wonderful butter filled croissants, and most terrible, no delicious
strawberry cheese cake.  But luckily there was enough french toast
and fruit to fill me up.  :)  Oh, and mimosas, don’t forget
the mimosas.

I didn’t get to take pics because I was too busy stuffing my face, but Chloe did manage to snap a few, so go check them out, along with all of the adorable pics of Ayden.  :)

Thank you so much, sister, for making my birthday so special.  You’re amazing and I love you.

Pump It Up!

Lindsay, Emery, and I ventured out this morning with the MOMS Club, to a local playplace called, Pump It Up
I didn’t know what to expect, other than a bunch of inflatable bouncy
castles, and that’s just what it was.  It actually exceeded my
expectations though, as all of the kids had a blast, and the moms
actually got a workout while having fun!   Yes, the adults
get to bounce too!

There were five big inflatables, as well as an
air hockey table, some arcade stuff, and a bunch of ride on cars for
kids to play with at random.  Emery was a trooper, strapped to his
crazy mommy’s chest, and I actually think he enjoyed himself as well.

We
left nice and tired, and Lindsay and Emery took long naps after lunch,
which was great for me, as I needed the rest as much as they did!
I think we’ll definitely go again, especially if we find ourselves
stuck in the house on a rainy day, with way too much energy.
;)

Go check out the Early February Gallery for pics.

Everybody Pees…Sometimes…

YAY!  We officially have pee in the potty!

As many of you
know, Lindsay has been pooping pretty consistently in the potty for the
past couple weeks, but for some reason, insisted that pee-pee didn’t
belong in the potty.  I would ask her while she was sitting there
pooping, if she needed to go pee too, and she would always say, "not
pee-pee, just poop mommy".  And I’d tell her "we go pee in the
potty too", and she’d just say, "no".

But this evening, she has
gone pee in the potty twice, only missing one when we were out and
about.  I’m so glad, and hoping that the ball continues rolling
and only gains momentum.  I definitely want her trained before
Emery is up and moving around on his own.  I can only imagine how
fun that would be to have to try to help Lindsay go potty in a hurry
while trying to corral Emery and make sure he doesn’t unroll the toilet
paper roll or eat a bar of soap at the same time!

I
haven’t really been good about helping her get potty trained…just
sort of ask her every once in a while if she wants to try going on the
potty, but she’s really made some leaps and bounds this past
week.  It’d be so nice if she actually trained
herself.   I’d be pretty impressed.

Anyway, I know you
all wanted to hear about Lindsays toilet habits.  She’ll be
mortified when she comes back and reads this in thirteen years, I’m
sure.  ;)  Keep your fingers crossed for more good potty
news!

You’re It! No Tagbacks!

Photo Takin’ Fools!

Yes, there are yet more photos to view today.  Aren’t you all "so yucky"??!!  ;)

After
Barney whined like a little girl about not getting to go to OMSI with
us on Friday, I decided we should take a trip as a family, and invite
the rest of the Beaverton Boisverts
to go along for the fun.  We all had a great time, although I
could tell Peggy and Justin weren’t as desensitized as we are, to the
chaos of a hundred kids running around like crazed little
monkeys.  They looked more worn out than Nikolai and Gabriel by
the time we left.  :)  We were all definitely ready to go
home a little early though, and hopefully the kiddos and us parents
will all sleep extra well tonight.
