One Week????

I can’t believe there’s only one week left ’til Christmas!
Yes, Christmas.  Not "winter break", or "the holidays", but good
ol’ Christmas ya damn oversensitive, P.C. weirdos.

Forgive my
hostility, I’m really looking forward to Christmas, but it’s driving me
insane hearing of all of the arguing going on around the country all of
a sudden, about what we’re going to call this time of year.  I
mean, seriously, why mess with a good thing, and when you can’t even
have a giving tree in a school to help out the less fortunate, that’s
just ridiculous.  Several schools around here agreed to change
their Christmas trees into giving trees by changing the name and
covering up the star on top, but when people still complained
that the trees this time of year are a symbol of Christianity, they
were forced to remove all of the trees and just have giving counters.  *Sigh*  Some people will do anything they can to rain on everyone elses good time.

Anyway,
we spent our weekend at the mall along with all of the other slackers
who left their shopping until the last minute.  Luckily we made it
out alive, with our sanity still intact (well, what little there was to
begin with anyway) and got most of our Christmas shopping done.
We have a few last minute things to still get that continue to elude
us, but what fun would it be if everything came easy, right?

I
attempted to wrap some presents this evening while Lindsay stole bags
from me and stuffed all of my tissue paper into them, and Emery’s
beautiful screeching filled the house with life.  I think maybe
I’ll finish up while they’re napping later this week.  ;)
Emery finally quieted down when I accidentally threw a plastic bag
close to him and his little hand shot out like a dart and snatched it
up accidentally.  He then spent the next half hour talking to it,
trying to stuff it into his mouth, but failing miserably and only
managing to smear spit accross his head and face while making an aweful
racket.  But hey, he wasn’t screaming.  Barney took a picture so you could share in the fun.

I
hope to post again before next week’s over, but just in case I don’t, I
hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ha ha ha! Wow, when you say plasic bag you mean it! I was picturing a small sandwhich bag size. Man, oh man! You could have fit Emery in that thing! :)

Sounds like your holidays are progressing just like ours. Busy, busy! Hope we get to catch up with you while you are in town. But if not, we will see you soon….cause in case you forgot: YOU ARE MOVING BACK HERE SOON! Yippeee!

About the Christmas Tree thing… NOT a symbol of Christianity, for the record. The tradition can be more closely attributed to the Pagans (hence the presence of one in our home each year). For a little interesting history lesson, check out this short blurb from The History Channel’s website:

    Oh, Merry Christmas! :-)
