We headed to Portland last weekend both for Barney to be able to attend a CFUG meeting, and to celebrate Father’s Day with his dad. We stayed with Chloe and Patrick from Thursday until Saturday afternoon, then headed over to the coast for the remainder of Saturday and Sunday.
It
was a wonderful weekend. It would have been nice to have some
better weather in Portland, but we made up for it in Warrenton. I
can’t remember such a beautiful two days there on the coast, and we
took full advantage of it as you’ll see in the new Father’s Day Gallery.
We
celebrated Sunday morning with strawberry and whipped cream crepes, and
then let the dads open their cards and gifts. I feel blessed to
have two such wonderful examples of fatherhood in my family.
Barney’s dad, Jerry, is probably the best example of great fathering
I’ve come across, and it certainly rubbed off on Barney. You
never think there’s any way you can love your husband even more than
you already do, but let me tell you, when you see them gazing into your
new baby’s eyes for the first time, or playing so sweetly with your
rambunctious toddler, you fall even deeper in love.
We
were having so much fun playing in the sun on Father’s Day that I
didn’t get to post a thank you to Barney the way I wanted to, but he
heard what I had to say to him in his card, and he knows how much we
love and appreciate him and all that he does for our family. We
love you so much sweetie! Enjoy the photos of our weekend
everyone else!
What wonderful pics…again! Love ‘the girls’ and ‘belly buddies’ pics. And Lindsay running to Pepere on the beach; that’s special.
The guys did a good job fixing up a pool and shade for Lindsay. Such an enjoyable weekend. Thanks for coming.
Awww. How sweet. I love the pictures! Especially the “Reflection” one. Perfect! Oh and the reading one is great too. You get points for creativity on the “pool” cause it looks like Lindsay loved it!
