We Miss You Auntie Chloe!

Chloe
came to visit us this weekend, and it was wonderful.  Even with
how much we drive to Portland, I don’t get to see her enough, and when
she actually makes a trip up here, it’s awesome.  Lindsay’s
absolutely in love with her, and cried when she left.

Lindsay and I looked at the pictures we’d taken from Chloe’s visit,
after she left, and Lindsay started blowing Chloe kisses and saying
"more".  It was so cute.

We had a great few days of shopping, browsing, bike riding, chatting,
and dining at cute little cafes.  I absolutely love Barney, and
love spending time with him, but he doesn’t quite fill that "girlfriend
role" very well, and let’s face it, no one can like a sister does.

We’re now going through withdrawals, but I think we’ll be ok til the next visit to Portland.  So enjoy the new pics
and be incredibly grateful if you live close to family and get to see
them often.  And if you don’t, maybe give them a call, I’m sure
they’d love to hear from you.  :)

Regression

After swapping the nursery and family rooms about a month ago, we
finally got around to swithching all of the stuff from one closet to
the other so that I could hang and organize all of Lindsay’s clothes
and such.

Well, in going through everything, we
located the only pacifier we ever had for her, which I must remind you
she refused to use as an infant.  As soon as she saw it however,
it was as though she’d found a long lost friend, and somehow knew
exactly what to do with it!  I think she just learned from
watching all of her other baby friends.  ;)

I took it
back from her pretty quickly because I didn’t want her suddenly getting
attached to it and have to take her everywhere with that stupid thing
sticking out of her mouth!

I think I ended up just
burying it in her toychest, thinking I’d run accross it again when I
clean all of the toys before the baby is born and I’d think about
offering it to the baby at that time (but probably not).  Today I
looked over at Lindsay and she was just sitting there, happily
rearranging the DVDs and sucking away on that darn pacifier
again!  Silly munchkin.  The baby hasn’t even been born yet
and she’s already doing the whole, "look at me, I’m a baby too"
regression thing.

I’m really thinking I’m not going to even
offer it to the baby just to prevent any jealousy issues having to do
with it before they even begin.  Anyway, here are some pictures I snapped before I once again took the pacifier away and hid it forever.

Update

So we had to have a plumber come out and charge us a fortune to
"rotoroot" the clog in the pipes.  I don’t think we actually found
out what was clogging everything up, but Barney and I were wondering if
maybe Lindsay became curious and put one of her toys down there or
something, and it then slipped down the tube so that we couldn’t see
it, so we flushed it away without knowing.  Who knows…

So don’t worry Chloe, we once again have running water and working toilets, so your visit will be great.

Things That Make You Go Hmmmm

I swear, if it’s not one thing, it’s another.

I haven’t been getting the best sleep the past few nights because the
poor munchkin is getting over a cough, and keeps waking up in wheezing,
coughing fits.  I thought maybe tonight we’d get to bed early and
sleep peacefully, but as I was getting ready for bed this evening, I
noticed the toilet was making a strange noise, and when I opened it up
to find the cause, I saw that the toilet had spontaneously emptied
itself. Hmmmm.  Checked the other toilet, same thing.
Interesting.  I then went into the laundry room to change the
clothes into the dryer and noticed that the huge spa tub that usually
sits empty because we never use it, now had standing water in the
bottom of it.  When I realized it hadn’t come out of the faucet, I
called for Barney to come up and investigate.  After calling tons
of plumbers who advertised their fast and speedy emergency 24 hour
service in the yellow pages, and all of them telling us they could come
out tomorrow or Friday, it seems we will not be able to flush the
toilet, wash dishes, do much needed laundry, or take a shower until
tomorrow evening.  That’s a pretty thought eh?  Sigh.

The saga continues…

Lovin’ It!

Ok, I added a new category of things I am particularly fond of on any given day.

Today, the highlight would be that I think I am finally feeling
Hangnail wiggle around in there!  I think that is one of the most
wonderful feelings a woman ever gets to experience, and I really wish
guys could experience it as well.  Of course I also wish guys
could experience the bloating, cramping, puking, weight gaining,
emotional rollercoaster that is pregnancy, just so they could really
understand us better.  ;)  But to get to feel that little
baby moving around in there, and get to know it and fall in love with
it even before it emerges into the world, at the same time not having
to deal with hearing it shreak, changing it’s diapers, or go through
the hell that is starting out breastfeeding (for some of us anyways),
that, my friends is heaven, pure and simple.  It’s my favorite
part of pregnancy, hands down.

On another note of random things I’m lovin’ right now… in no particular order;

pickles
chocolate covered raisins (the big tub from Costco)
oranges
Maui Onion Chips (also from Costco)
Mt. Dew

And yes, I frequently eat them all together in one sitting.  ;)  No joke.

Sunday Drivers

Well, more appropriately, Sunday bikers.

After I finished packing a picnic lunch, and Lindsay and I managed to
rouse Barney from his "morning nap" around 11:00, we headed across the
lake to a wonderful bike trail for an afternoon adventure.
It was awesome, although I would have preferred it to be a little
sunnier, but I suppose I just have to be patient for the summer.
After riding for a while, we stopped, threw out our blanket, and ate
our lunch on the banks overlooking the river.  Lunch with a view

We then went home just in time for it to start raining as we finished
packing everything into the car.  After putting Lindsay down for
her nap at 2:00, which she made no complaints about, poor tired little
thing, Barney and I also retired to the bedroom and we all slept ’til
4:00!  I guess the biking wiped us all out.  Bored, we
decided to head back into town and get some necessary supplies at
Freddies, one such item being a cushy, "big butt" bike seat for my
bike.  Thank God!  I’ve been complaining to Barney that my
bike’s seat is like sitting on a ruler, and I’m sore for days after
every ride.  Ok, so it’s not really that bad, but I was aching for
one of those granny seats with a cusion for each cheek!  I went
with something in between.  It’s not obscenely huge, but ohhhh
sooo cushy.  I’ll be riding in luxery from now on, let me tell
you.  I can demand such comforts being pregnant can’t I?
After all, my butt’s only going to get bigger!  ;)

After we put Lindsay to bed at 8:00, we did something that completely
confirmed in my mind that we have forever crossed that line from simply
being a married couple, to parenthood.  Out of our entire
video/DVD collection, what did we choose to watch while eating ice
cream and drinking hot chocolate?  The Lion King.  Don’t
laugh, we really enjoyed it, and actually sat through the entire movie,
which we can’t manage to do most of the time because we just get tired
of it and turn it off.

So there it is, our wonderful Sunday in a nutshell.  Hope yours
was as nice as ours.  We only managed to snap a few pics, but go
check them out.  They’re in the new March Gallery.

Boy Or Girl?

It is so weird, but three people have told me today that I’m
having a boy!  I’ve had a feeling it’s a boy for a while now, but
like I said before, I thought Lindsay was a boy until about a week
before she was born, so who knows.  I just think it’s really weird
that everyone is saying it’s a boy!  I don’t know why everyone
thinks that, especially since I’m not really showing enough yet for
people to speculate based on how I’m carrying.  I can’t wait until
August to find out.

I’m starting to go through that freaking out about everything phase
again that I went through with Lindsay where I morbidly, constantly
think the baby has died.  I know, I’m terrible, but I felt Lindsay
moving at 16 weeks, and I’m past that now, and…nothing.  Barney
must be so sick of me asking him if maybe it died.  God that’s
horrible, but these are the kinds of things that run through my mind in
flashes.

I need help.  ;)

Copy Of Slideshow

It’s finally here internet!  The redone slideshow
(18.1 MB), so that everyone can see it, not just those who worship the
Windows XP Gods.  For those of you who were lucky enough to be
able to see the original
(3.44 MB), I’d just skip the new one if I were you, because it may not
be quite as smooth, but a lot of that depends on the speed of your
computer I suppose.  Anyway, it’s been made to be viewed in
Quicktime, which both Mac and PC can run, but if you don’t have that installed, go get the quick download here

Once again, enjoy!

Slideshow

Ok, so at least three of you have had a chance/been able to watch the slideshow.

For the rest of you, rest assured I’m feverishly working on duplicating
it in a different program so that everyone can see it, yes, even you,
my Mac friends.  You know who you are.  ;)

If Barney’s computer (which is evil and insists on keeping me from my
slideshow) stops crapping out tomorrow, I’ll get it posted up here, so
stay tuned.
