I was pleasantly surprised last night when, after making a last minute
decision that "tonight’s the night" for changing Lindsay over from the
crib to her new bed,
she fell asleep without any problems at all! No crying, no
falling out, no finding her on the floor in the morning, no frantically
jumping right back out of bed once we laid her down, NOTHING!
I was prepared for some sort of a battle, but she took to it like it
was no big thing. And it’s not even a toddler bed or anything
like that. It’s a regular old twin mattress! People told us
she was way too young to switch over already, but Barney and I had
faith in her, and she came through like a queen.
It’s adorable how tiny
she looks on that great big bed, but she seems to like all of the
newfound space and freedom. The only new thing she did was that,
because she was no longer locked in her crib and forced to just sit
there until we came and retrieved her, when she woke up she got right
up and tried to open the door. Only, she doesn’t know how yet, so
she just spent several minutes knocking and scratching at the
door. Barney and I were cracking up, so we finally went in and
made a big fuss of how well she slept on her new big girl bed.
She did really well for her nap today as well, so I’m hoping it wasn’t
just a fluke. I’m so amazed that she doesn’t just get right back
out of bed once I tuck her in, now that she has that option. I’m
so proud of her. What a good girl. She should make a great
big sister.
What a good girl! Sleeping just like Mommy and Daddy said to.
The bed set looks great.
Those beds look familiar… we only one set up right now though, I know Nikolai would want to hang out on the top bunk if we stacked them. And I’m not ready for that! Go Lindsay!
Thats great! And the bed looks great. I look forward to hearing the rest of the details to come!
