Where Have We Been???

As obvious from the lack of posts over the past week and a half,
Heather and I aren’t around.  We’ve been down in Portland and
Warrenton for the holidays.  One last whirlwind tour of Port
Angeles and Victoria this weekend, and then we’ll be returning to our
normal schedule, more or less.

In the meantime, there are two new sites to check out Hawaii Boisverts and The Whisler Life
I built sites similar to this one for Peggy & Justin and Chloe
& Patrick to use as they see fit.  There were a couple
glitches that were quickly ironed out, and both sites are off to a
running start.  We can’t say the same, but rest assured that more
pictures and posts will follow once our routine has returned to
something resembling normalcy.

Crazy Baby

Lindsay has taken to just laughing out of the blue. At nothing really. We’ll be walking along the street, and she’ll start giggling. I try to find what she’s looking at, but usually she’s just sort of looking around at nothing in particular. Very strange, but extremely amusing. I wish I had such random fits of giggles. It might have made my day today a whole lot better. (see post below)

Grrrrrr…

Ok, I don’t have bad days very often, as most of the time I just let things go and don’t let anything get to me. Well today was not one of those days.

I think a lack of sleep had something to do with it, as I only got 6 hours last night. I know, for some people that’s a good night’s sleep, but for me, who needs at least a good 8 hours to function as a happy human being, and 10 to be super fun to live with, 6 hours just doesn’t cut it.

I have nobody to blame but myself, as I didn’t go to sleep until around 1am, but to make matters worse, Lindsay woke up an hour earlier than usual the next morning, and you can’t complain to a baby, you still have to be happy and sunny for them when you go in and get them in the morning, ya know? I’m not about to ruin her day just because I was a dumbass. ;)
So, I hope I didn’t give anybody any nasty looks or anything today without realizing it. If I did and you read this, I appologize. Heck, if I wrote to you or spoke to you today, I’ll just appologize now because it’s quite likely I was bitchy, and you probably didn’t deserve it. ;)
Sorry world. Don’t worry, I’m going to bed early tonight.

And a Third Time

Chloe is pregnant, as you probably all know, so I posted a couple pictures of The Whislers, including some ultrasounds from Chloe’s first appointment with the baby doctor for your perusal.

At some point here I’m going to have to figure out a way to let Peggy and Chloe just post on here directly or something, so Heather and I aren’t telling their stories second hand. But that’s a bunch of work, and I’m lazy. ;)

And Again!

Peggy sent over a bunch more pictures yesterday. So many, in fact, that I didn’t even post them all. They’re also available in the aptly named Hawaii Boisverts 2 gallery for your perusal.

Nikolai and Gabriel

Once again it’s Thursday evening, and Peggy has sent her weekly installment of photographs of the Hawaii Boisverts. Five new ones to accompany the previous nine, and she said there were more to come, because she can only send five at a time with her email account. Hopefully the other six (she said there were eleven in all) will arrive tomorrow, and I’ll get them posted as well.

More Photos Folks!

I made sure I took some more photos today after I got reamed for re-posting old ones! You know who you are. ;)
Today Lindsay and I went to the MOMS Club holiday get together and then over to Katrina’s house (a friend from both my childbirth prep class, and also coincidentally my Baby ‘N Me class) for a playgroup. Both events were a lot of fun, and…
you know what? As I read what I’m typing, a thought is invading my head. If I had read a post like this, just five years ago, I would be SO rolling my eyes right now and thinking how lame it was that this lady was posting about her outings with her kid … in her stay at home lifestyle … with a bunch of other sad women doing the same thing … how boring. You get the idea. Ahhh, teenagers. It’s so funny how much your world and your perceptions can change in just a few years.

I was one of those people who swore up and down that I was never having kids. Look at me now. Spending all of my waking hours with my kid and LOVING EVERY MINUTE.

Lindsay - Month 11

Well my dear, you’re almost a year old and I can’t believe it. This year has gone by so quickly, yet I feel like you’ve been in my life for years and years, and can’t truly remember what life was like without you, nor would I want to.

You’ve become obsessed with standing this past month, and are now getting braver, guiding yourself from one piece of furniture to the next all day long. Along with this newfound independence and bravery however, has come an odd reemergence of your clinging to my leg phenomenon. You also flip out if I put you down after carrying you around, or if I leave the room, even if your daddy is still in there with you!

This month you went on your first museum trip, sat on a horse for the first time, had your first Thanksgiving dinner, and learned how to do tons of stuff like rolling your hands, responding to “how big is Lindsay” by throwing out your arms, yawning on command, waving, pointing to my nose when asked where it is, and you’ve become a little more cuddly, which I of course relish.

Your favorite food right now are the Yakisobi noodles from Costco, smothered with teriyaki sauce. You just can’t get enough of these and it’s thoroughly entertaining watching you suck them up like on Lady And The Tramp.

I’d have to say that your favorite activity this month has become what your daddy and I like to call, “nakey time”. This is the half hour before bed, after he changes your diaper and takes your day clothes off, when we let you run around with just a diaper on and you squeal with utter glee. You go sprinting from the nursery into the family room to show whichever one of us didn’t strip you down, how absolutely naked you are. We of course do the appropriate surprised face, causing you to once again squeal and turbo crawl around the room. It’s a wonderful way to end each evening.

Your personality is already shining through and I can tell that you are to be highly intelligent, very sassy and impatient, loving and loyal, and sensitive in the sense that your feelings get hurt very easily. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Monthly Letter

I swear, I will get around to writing Lindsay’s 11 month letter sometime this week! I’ve been really busy, but hopefully I’ll find a few minutes while she’s taking a nap. ;)

El Pictures de la Humpy-Hump

Kealoha gave us some more pictures that she’d taken that day when several of the moms got together to take Christmas photos (the “Snow Princess” day). There’s also some more that Heather took last night of Lindsay just being a silly little kid. All are in the December 2004 gallery. Enjoy.
