We’ve added a variety of photos from this weekend. There are some of me with my glasses, some of Lindsay swinging, and some of her just sitting by herself in the living room. Go check them out!

I went and got some glasses today and can’t believe what a difference they’ve made! I knew during my pregnancy that my sight seemed a little worse than it used to be, and I had heard that pregnancy can do that to a lot of gals, but I had no idea it had gotten this bad until I started wearing these glasses today! Everything is SO CLEAR! It’s great!
So now I look like a librarian……
Since Lindsay was born, I’ve gained weight, lost my waist, lost a large portion of my hair, had to get glasses, been called Ma’am, and to top it all off, I went to a new doctor the other day, and in passing conversation, he guessed my age at “thirty-something”!!!!!! It’s all downhill from here I tell ya! Once you give birth, your body is never again your own.
So, I’ve been so excited this entire week, waiting for our new van to be delivered to the dealership. Yes, that’s right, I said a new van. Not just new to me, but new! Brand new! With that smell, you know the one…………
I can’t wait. And when we signed the papers last week, the dealer said it should be delivered today. Was it? No.
It better be here tomorrow, that’s all I can say, or I may have to go camp out and stage a protest at the dealership. ; ) Just kidding, I’m just very anxious to get it. It’ll be so nice to have so much more room, especially when we go on our road trips to Portland and Warrenton. And I’ll actually be able to bring bigger stuff home from Home Depot, or the nursery, or wherever else if I wish to! You can’t realize how exciting this is unless you’ve ever been stuck with tiny cars and had to have everything delivered to your house!
So hopefully I’ll get the van tomorrow, and I’ll be sure to take pictures for you all to share in my joy. The next step is to sell the silver civic and pay back my wonderful sister-in-law and her husband, who have been infinitely patient and gracious in letting us use their car without sending them a dime! We’re terrible, we really are! But now that I’ll have the van, we can really buckle down to selling the civic and sending them the money we should have sent them a year ago! Terrible I tell you……
Yay! We put some more photos on this evening for your viewing pleasure. Just stuff from us playing around in the den together in the evenings. Enjoy!
Ok, here comes another bad mommy story.
I claim to be a pretty darn good mommy most of the time, not too uptight, nor too lax; I give her plenty of stimulation and fun interaction and such on a regular basis . . .
Well, today, I was very, very bad indeed. I was checking my email and letting Lindsay play on the guest bed as usual, keeping an eye on her as usual, she was rolling around as usual, playing with her toys as usual, and then something not usual at all happened. I heard a THUNK.
*CRINGE*
No more Lindsay on the bed!
*GASP*
She had rolled herself off of the opposite side of the bed! I raced around to the other side of the bed and there she was, laying on the floor, looking at me with a stunned expression on her face as if to say, “Ok, I was just playing with my yellow block just then, and then the world turned upside down, and now I’m here on the hard floor with the wind knocked out of me. Why is that mommy?”
And then the crying started. Long hard sobs as I scooped her up and she buried her face in my shoulder. I of course have spent the rest of the day appologizing to her, feeling terrible, and she seems to have forgotten the whole incident ever happened. In fact, this evening, she continued to attemp to roll off of the bed while her daddy and I played with her!
But we each had a side covered, so she was safe.
So, as you can imagine, she will no longer be going on the bed while I read my email, even for a few seconds, unless I am physically on the bed with her, blocking all rolling paths. I’m sure there will be worse trauma to come, especially when she starts trying to walk, but seeing as how this was her first big “accident”, and that it was my fault for putting her on the bed, it was a momentus occasion for both of us.
Luckily she’s absolutely fine, not even a bump or bruise to show for it, but it does influence my future decisions on where to lay her down, let me tell you!
