Gum Splitting Fun!

Poor little Lindsay is teething.

Now, I know I’ve said before on this site that I thought she was teething, I think around month four or five, but this time, I’m sure. She has let me know for sure. Her waking up three times a night, biting everything in sight, drooling all the time, grinding her gums together while moaning like a banshee 24/7 has let me know for sure, that she is, in fact, teething.

I finally broke down today and we went to Freddies and bought some oragel for her poor throbbing gums. (I’m so tempted to smear my mouth with the stuff before heading to the dentist at the end of the month! But I can just imagine myself walking in, opening my mouth in a nice smile to talk to the receptionist, and promptly drolling all over the desk because my entire mouth, including my tongue has fallen asleep!) ;) Anyway, we’ll see how it goes for the girlie tonight. I’m hoping it will help her to get a full night’s sleep again.

She was not the happiest munchkin today, let’s just put it that way. Please God, let her teeth all come in quickly so that I can have my sweet little girl back! Oh, but please, please, don’t let her start biting me while I’m feeding her, because I’d like to keep breastfeeding for a little while longer and she’s already destroyed my boobs enough as it is.

Oh, sorry, TMI? :)

Oh no! Teething is no fun at all. I remember that Hayden would get bad ear aches when he was teething. For some reason or other he would get really sick and miserable from it as well. Just a heads up. You never know what will happen!

Try putting some of her liquid filled chew toys in the fridge. Then she’ll have something cold to chew on. Might help.

You can ‘tell’ her gently, but in no uncertain terms that biting while nursing is unacceptable. It CAN be done. Had to do it with both kids.

And remember, this too, shall pass.
