So I didn’t get my DNS switch as I had hoped. The last two days of downtime (apologies) were waiting for the new DNS to sync up, but it never did, so we’re back to the old system, at least for now.

Our train ride from Bellingham to Portland went pretty darn well considering the train was sold out and I ended up having to hold the poor girlie on my lap the whole 7 hours! She was remarkably good for a bored little girl forced to stay in my arms for that long. She watched a little bit of “The Cat in the Hat” on the t.v.’s they have in the cars, talked (very loudly) to the gentleman sitting next to us, and ate a bunch (while trying to still talk at the top of her lungs to the gentleman sitting next to us!). The noise of the train itself can be quite loud, so Lindsay realized she needed to be louder than it for the man to notice her. Here is this poor guy trying to read his book, and there’s my little Lindsay, talking at the top of her lungs, smiling wildly, and staring intently at him until he talked back. Quite the little flirt……suddenly I’m not looking forward to her teenage years.
I used to scoff when I heard stay-at-home-moms say that they had the toughest job in the world…..
Ok, so I’ve changed my tune a little bit. Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes….blah blah blah. But it’s true! It’s really exhausting not ever getting to leave your job/workplace, and trying to get the day-to-day chores and such done as well. I mean, imagine staying where you work right now, 24-7! Not a pretty thought is it? And just think, you can slack off if you want to while you’re there! A little tetris here, some solitaire there, the boss will never know….. Well let me tell you, my boss KNOWS if I’m slacking off on my job! She lets me know she knows too……just screams and screams and screams. Add in a little flailing of the chubby arms and legs, and I’m back to work. Don’t get me wrong, I love this job, but if you want to know what it’s like to only get to take a shower when your nose tells you it’s time, become a mother. (Ok, a little graphic, I do appologize, but I have to give you an extreme example so you’ll really get the jist of what I’m saying)
I’ve been trying to do the little projects around our house that need doing before we put the house up for sale, but it seems to be taking ten times longer than it should. And every weekend, I figure, hey, Barney will be here all day, so he can either help, or watch Lindsay for me for a bit so that I can get some of this stuff done and put this darn house on the market already! However, every weekend, there either seems to be some sort of obstacle to completing my tasks, or we’re headed off to another state! Barney was really sick this past weekend, so instead of him watching the girlie for me, I was watching the girlie, as well as him! Tasks completed: 0
Hopefully it won’t be August before we can finally try to find a buyer and get ourselves into a nicer home.
Not only is Lindsay now giggling, she also seems to be learning how to hyperventilate! Every time I change her now, she starts off all happy and smiling and starts experimenting with new noises, like closing her throat slightly while she breaths in, so that it makes a funny noise (like one of the nerds laughing from the movie “Revenge of the Nerds”). The problem is, she then can’t figure out how to stop, and go back to breathing normally! She gets this panicked look on her face and starts doing the noise over and over again until she finally coughs or cries herself out of it! Little weirdo! Ah, babies, what an adventure……
Oh my god, I wish you guys could hear Lindsay’s newest sounds! She now every once in a while squeals with delight and does a big ol’ belly laugh! It’s adorable! I’ve only really gotten it out of her when I lay on my back, with her laying on her stomach on my shins and I lift her up and down. She just cracks up. It’s so much more fun now that she’s getting more animated ya know?
