Posted 10 new photos, split across two galleries. Pain in the rear, I know, but this way Lindsay (@ Home III) will be an even 24 pics (including 2 new ones). The other 8 are in the new Lindsay (@ Home 4) gallery. I decided that it was time for a change in the naming scheme, and boldly opted to switch from Roman to Arabic numerals.
I made Lindsay an online alphabet book for all her friends and family to help build. Obviously it’s not much use to her in digital form, but when she gets a little older, I’ll take the word list and turn it into a hardcopy book. I’ll definitely post the digital version (probably MS Word) for use by whomever wants it.
Following Simeon’s lead, I set up a primitive webcam on Heather’s computer. It only displays single frames, but they are set to reload every second to give the appearance of video, without the hassles of actual streaming video. Obviously it’ll only work when the computer is on, and even if it’s on, it’ll be pretty boring unless someone’s there. If you want to arrange a Lindsay Viewing, shoot Heather an email.
I think I mentioned before that I had joined a group for stay-at-home moms here in Bellingham. So far Lindsay and I have gone to a membership meeting and two playdates for infants 1 year and younger. She can’t really interact with the other babies yet, but at least it gives me a chance to hang out with some other gals and chat about stuff. She did smile and try to talk to one of the other babies at this last playgroup though, when the little girl came up to the bouncy seat Lindsay was in and tried to crawl on top of her! It was pretty cute. I can’t wait ’til she can at least sit up and play with some of her toys! At least then things won’t be so boring for her…..it must suck to just sit or lay there on your back most of the day. The days are passing quickly though and she just keeps growing and learning new things. She’ll be walking around before I know it. *sniffle*
I can’t believe how lucky we are! Lindsay is such a good girl when it comes to letting her mommy sleep at night! I usually feed her for the last time around 9:30 or 10:00 every night, and put her to bed right after that. She goes right to sleep without a fuss and sleeps for an average of 8 hours! Last night she slept for a little over 9! Thank god, because there’s no way her daddy would get up every few hours, nor has he ever had to since she was born, and I would be, well, let’s just say, “not very fun to be around” if she was waking up every four hours like everyone warned us she would. And she’s pretty much been doing this from week three! We are definitely blessed with an “easy baby”.
Lindsay has become quite the mess in the past couple weeks. She’s opted to get on a schedule of no poop for a couple days, and then overflow her diaper and clothing, and “mark” whatever she happens to be sitting on (usually her bouncy chair). On the plus side, it’s provided a good schedule for giving her baths every few days. Hopefully she’ll even out again with a little poop every day, but I fear she may be stuck in a pattern passed down by her mom.
Lindsay had her two month checkup today. She weighs 14 pounds (most of that in her belly), and is 24 inches long, both of which are in the 95+ percentile for babies her age. She also got the first big batch of immunizations; four separate shots. She seems to have taken it quite well, though from what Heather says, she was none too happy during the process (turning a shade of red not yet seen on her face).
On the home front, she’s become much more interactive, responding with smiles and noises to Heather and I. She’s also made great strides with the motor skills. Last night she spent the better part of 15 minutes happily putting a suction dart (from our Christmas dart guns) in and out of her mouth, and smearing it all over her face. She’s also getting her hands in her mouth pretty much whenever she wants.
Heather took a couple close-up shots, one of which turned out well. She said she’ll probably take some more one morning, as Lindsay seems to be in a consistently good mood in the AM, and should be quite content to sit and smile for the camera.
Lindsay turned two months old today. Hard to believe it’s been that long. As is standard with two timespan anniversaries, we had a chocolate cake with the number two written on top with sprinkles. However, we had some technical difficulties with the photo.
We took several pics before we cut it, but on the last photo the battery died. We thought nothing of it, and went ahead with having a piece each. Only afterwards, when I went to look at the photos did I realize that losing power on the last photo had corrupted the card in some fashion, and none of the photos were available. So we had to take some new ones, with part of the cake missing. Oh well.
I’ve received various pieces of negative feedback from people regarding some of the content I’ve posted.
The purpose of this site is two-fold: First and foremost, to provide a glimpse into our (Heather, Lindsay and myself) life, particularly through the photo galleries, for friends and family that aren’t here in person as often as they’d like. Secondly, it’s a place for me (and Heather, as she sees fit) to share about ourselves. If you don’t want to be shared with, no one is making you come here.
Rest assured, none of my posts are needlessly designed to be nasty, inappropriate, or whatever else. They’re simply a reflection of me and my thoughts, and the tone will change based on my mood. It is, after all, a glimpse of the boisvert life, not the cleaned-up PBS special.
It’s been a productive weekend, with pictures being taken at a rate unseen this side of professional photographers and other people who take more pictures than we did. Seven more wonderful photos have been added to the Lindsay (@ Home III) gallery for you viewing pleasure.
