New Pics

Added some more pictures from the past few days to the Lindsay (@ Home) gallery, including one of the now infamous belly button scab. I’m also trying to figure out a better way to do the galleries, as I’m becoming less and less impressed with iPhoto’s capabilites in that respect.

My New Office

I’m now living in a new office at work (I moved Monday the 19th). I’d previously had a quasi-cube in a large area with a couple other people, but now I’ve got an actual office. It’s kind of nice to have some privacy, but more importantly, the lack of distractions has done wonders for my productivity. Here’s a picture (from the Random Shots gallery).

barneyb.com is Here

After waiting for over 3 months to get barneyboisvert.com out of the mire that is domainzero/enom/bigfoot, I opted instead to just register a new domain: barneyb.com. That was the domain I’d originally wanted, but it was registered to some guy in Hong Kong, so I opted for barneyboisvert.com. But he didn’t renew, so I snapped it up.

The real meaning is that now you can access this site by just going to www.barneyb.com, rather than one of the longer, harder to remember URLs that I had to use before.

The Staples are Out!

Heather went in to the doctor and got her staples removed today. She was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect, but it went fine from what she said. That was Lindsay’s first outing as well (aside from coming home from the hospital), and she did great. Afterwards they came to my office and we had a little party with my coworkers. Now they’re heading to the store briefly, and then home to sleep.

The Hospital Announcement

Thought I should link to Lindsay’s page in the St. Joseph’s Baby @lbum. I believe the picture is from Saturday morning.

The Belly Button Saga

We gave Lindsay a bath and her belly button scab started coming off. She was none to happy about that, but such is life. We carefully dressed her so that it would keep drying out, hoping it would fall off, and she was none to happy about that as well. But after Heather burped her a few hours later, the scab stuck to Heather’s robe when she pulled Lindsay away, and all was good.

1 Week Old

Lindsay’s one week old today. Chloe called about quarter after four wondering if Heather was singing happy birthday. She wasn’t, though it still might end up being an excuse to have cake or something.

Both mom and baby are doing quite well, adjusting to life bound to each other. They sleep on the same schedule, eat on the same schedule, and are generally loving life. That’ll get worse once my mom leaves and it’s just us two, but for now, it’s great.

MT for All

The site is now entirely driven by MoveableType, so all the navigation is over on the left, and all the non-MT stuff is on standalone pages that open in new windows. I’d really like to make the galleries a little friendlier, but unfortunately iPhoto doesn’t allow editing of the templates used for generation, so I’m kind of stuck. Might try some XSL stuff, but probably not. ; )

New Pics

I added a few new pictures to the Lindsay (@ Home) gallery.

We’ve Moved

In a crazed frenzy of activity, I installed RedHat on my old laptop, configured all the software I needed to run this site, and put it down in my company’s (AudienceCentral) rack at the data center. No longer will bandwidth be a concern, and the performance should be better as well.
